Unexpected Surprises

I thought something felt different about this pregnancy, I was more tired than with Jackson, and I was definately growing quicker. I spoke to Ken about it one day. He looked worried and rang the hospital to book an ultrasound for the next day. He had the day off so would look after Jackson while I went alone.

Unfortunately, I woke up at about 4am (Ken was already up because he's on army times and works out early in the morning on his days off) in a lot of pain. It wasnt contractions, it didn't feel like the normal pain I'd been having recently though. So I got dressed and quickly rushed to the hospital, leaving Ken and Jackson to their father-son day, and hoped there would be a doctor available this early in the morning.

When I got to the hospital, I got some surprising news. "Mrs Mattell, I'm not sure how to say this, but... You're having triplets..." I was in shock. No wonder I was so tired, I'd been eating for two when I should have been eating for four! He told me that although I was only 7 months, the babies were healthy and viable, and as I was in so much pain, it would be best to deliver them via C-section as soon as possible. I was speechless, but had to ring Ken as they had an opening in the surgery in an hour, and I definately didn't want to wait any longer in as much pain as I was in!
"Hello honey, everything ok?"
"Yes... Erm... I'm pregnant with triplets and they need to deliver via C-section in an hour" I blurted out. Ken was silent, obviously as stunned as I was.
"I'll get Jackson dressed and we'll be right there..." he said eventually.
"No!" I said, it sounded ruder than I'd meant "We've only planned for one baby, and not got a crib as Jackson was supposed to have grown out of it by the time this one came along! Please find three cribs as cheap as possible and as quick as possible, I don't want to be wondering around shops with three babies and a toddler when I'm out of here!"
He agreed, wished me luck, and then we had to say goodbye.

When I got home it was chaos. There was a huge dog sitting in our doorway, and the bin was knocked over with all its contents spilled over the front of our house. I really wasn't in the mood for this, I just wanted to have something to eat and get into bed.
Baby Ayden, our second son, was born first, at 3lb 6
Then Holly, our first daughter 3lb 4.
And finally Shelly, our second daughter, and final child, 3lb.
Within minutes of arriving home, the post came, and there must be some psychic long-lost relative because they'd sent three dolls and we didnt even know we were having three, and the one we thought we were going to have, wasnt due for two months.
It was pretty cramped in the little bedroom we'd extended out. And Ken had managed to find 3 cribs for very cheap. They will out grow them in a few months, but they will do for now, at least until we can afford bigger ones, and Jackson has nearly outgrown his crib anyway, so I think a bed will be the first buy.

Ken offered to look after all 4 kids on his own while I had a nice warm bath, a plate of pancakes and then went to bed.

Guys, seriously, my sims have issues. I  knew this would happen. I was dreading it. All my sim families have multiple births in almost every generation, so look forward to me having more kids than I rolled in future generations, luckily I rolled 4 for this one and I don't have to risk going over. Ps, if my sims got fertility treatment, they'd probably have triplets for every pregnancy!  -_-

Growing

It wasn't long before little Jackson was walking.

Not long after, I started feeling ill
I did a pregnancy test, and sat down to play with Jackson while I waited for Ken to come back from work.

Ken came home and I told him the news, I was pregnant again.
He wasn't as excited as he was when I told him about Jackson, He was worried we didnt have enough space, we only had 2 bedrooms, and we didn't really have enough money to build a third yet, but he agreed we should keep it, neither of us ever really wanted to get rid of it, it just meant we had to cut back on spending money, we already got all our food from the community gardens, and he was spending extra time at work, I would have to get a job myself, something I could do at home.

It wasn't long before I started to show. Thats the only problem with being thin, things like this dont stay hidden long. One day as I was snuggling up to Jackson, I had an idea.
Ken got home from work, and announced that all his extra hours had paid off, and he had earned a promotion!
Then I told him my idea. I could run a day-care service from home! It would mean I could be a stay-at-home mom, at the same time as earning enough money for us to have a more comfortable life. He liked the idea, but told me I should wait until after this baby is born, and possibly a few months or a year old too. I agreed that I couldnt start it right now, as this pregnancy was making me very tired, and I could barely keep up with Jackson now he was walking, let alone have other peoples children here too! I wasn't sure I wanted to wait another year and a half though, but I agreed we would talk about it again after the new baby was settled in.

The Start

I went into labour around 7pm on Thursday, and Ken called a taxi to take us to the hospital.

Luckily labour went quickly and I was out the hospital a few hours later with baby Jackson. A beautiful and healthy 8lb little bundle of joy.

When we got home, Ken showed me the nursary, which he had done without me knowing, and he'd even hand-made a crib for Jackson! He is so handy. So we put Jackson down for his first nights sleep, and went to bed ourselves, knowing we needed all the sleep we could get!

They grow up so fast though don't they? It wasnt long before little Jackson was feeding himself in his highchair.

So, naturally, me and Ken set about helping him learn the lifeskills he'd need as he got older, I taught him his first words.

We invested in a pushchair, I definately want more children, and Ken seems like he's loving fatherhood, so we got one suitable for girls and boys. I took Jackson to the community gardens that I've been to a few times. I found a seed on the ground, I'm not sure what it is, so I think I'll plant it at home and see what grows!

The Mattells

My names Barbie, and me and my husband Ken have just moved to a lovely little house in Riverview with the aim to start a family of our own.

Our house set us back a bit, but Ken has just got a job with the Army, and as he is a fitness fanatic, we hope he'll soon be earning a fair amount.

Although people say I look like a 'bimbo', one of my favorite pastimes is playing chess, I hope some other people in this town like it too, because i want to beat them all at it!

But anyway, as Ken already had a job and i didn't, on his first day of work I went for a look around town. I found a communal garden just down the road full of fresh produce for anyone to take! So I helped myself to a few items, the sign said that nobody minds as long as you help towards the upkeep.
But I have some good news. I have just found out that I'm pregnant! Ken is as happy as me and we can't wait to meet our little one!
